We are seeking a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
Developing new user-facing features
Building reusable code and libraries for future use
Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimizing for cross-browser consistency and performance
Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders
Building and continuously improving the web-based interface to the analytic system.
Working closely with other teams, as required.
Testing code for functional correctness, robustness, edge cases, usability and reliability.
Proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
A good understanding of development methodologies and best practices.
Working knowledge of the Git version control system.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast moving and challenging environment.
Good organisation skills with a keen attention to detail.
Some experience designing and maintaining style guides will be beneficial.
Managing component libraries.
Ability to create and describe story frames illustrating the proposed functionality of UI updates.
Knowledge of BDD would be useful as the test regime in the team is underpinned by this.
A good understanding of UX principles.
To be comfortable with data visualisation techniques.
Comfortable working in an agile development environment.
Conscientious, with a strong desire to meet and then exceed expectations.
Driven by learning and personal growth.
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
