The Role

We are seeking an experienced software engineer, skilled in JavaScript, preferably with good knowledge of React, to join our web development team. You will be responsible for the development, test, and support of the web-based user interfaces to our unique digital quality analysis service that is at the heart of the company.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team and work on our innovative product, helping shape its growth and direction. You will work in a close-knit team, helping us to bring our ideas to life, creating rich functional interfaces, which are simple and intuitive to use.
Good communication and teamworking skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and continuously improving the web-based interface to the analytic system.
  • Working closely with other teams to develop new features and visualisations.
  • Unit and component testing code for functional correctness, robustness, edge cases, usability and reliability.
  • Bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • All stages of the software lifecycle for front-end web development.
  • Staying up-to-date with the techniques, tools and software that can help perform the job.
  • Providing input to the team on any improvements that can be made.
  • Supporting the company with information about known issues and fixes to the software.

Skills Profile


  • Extensive experience with JavaScript development for complex web-based applications.
  • Experience working with the latest versions of JavaScript (ES2015+).
  • Good knowledge of popular JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as React, Redux and D3, or similar.
  • Experience with HTML5 and CSS3 techniques for building web pages.
  • A good understanding of development methodologies and best practices.
  • Knowledge of RESTful Web Services and JSON.
  • Working knowledge of the Git version control system.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving and challenging environment.
  • Excellent organisation skills with a keen attention to detail.


  • Can produce work driven from visual UX designs.
  • Some experience with websocket clients and servers will be beneficial.
  • Some experience designing and maintaining style guides will be beneficial.
  • An understanding of networks will be beneficial, though not essential.
  • Ability to create and describe story frames illustrating the proposed functionality of UI updates.
  • Experience of Agile practices: Kanban principles would be ideal but other practices would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of BDD would be an advantage.
